Prof. Dr. Ing. Yulfian Aminanda, C-Eng.

Yulfian Aminanda has started his career as Engineer in aerospace industry since 1993. He served as Engineer, senior engineer and supervisor of Head Department in Indonesian Aerospace Industry from 1993 – 2005 dealing with mainly aircraft structure design and analysis at the beginning of his career and end up as Head of propulsion integration system department for N2130 turbofan aircraft. In the meantime, He has worked as specialist engineer with The Boeing Company in Seattle USA dealing with certification process of B747 extended range, propulsion integration design of new generation of B737 and B777 for 2 years ( 1997-1998).
Starting 2005 until 2018, Yulfian Aminanda serves as Lecturer and researcher in Department of Mechanical Engineering for aerospace program of IIUM Malaysia. He started as assistant Professor in 2004 and becomes Professor in the year of 2012. He holds administrative posts since joining the faculty of engineering IIUM from Academic Advisor for Aerospace Program (2005 – 2010), coordinator for testing and industry link (2011), coordinator for training and executive program (2012) to Head of Research of the faculty and technical manager and signatory for Universal Testing Machine accreditation at the same university.
Dr Yulfian Aminanda obtained several grants from ministry of education of Malaysia in the area of composite, sandwich structure, impact engineering, finite element and others. AMIC (Aerospace Malaysian Innovation Centre) a government research agency which is grouping industries (Airbus, Roll-Royces, CTRM etc), government agencies (MIGHT and others) and universities has granted his team a project on minimizing the reject part of aircraft composite structure produced by CTRM in the year 2013. He is also a member of Dean Council for Aerospace program under purview of Ministry of Education of Malaysia since 2005. His international joint research relates on simulation of composite manufacturing process co-organized with Institute Clement Ader, INSA and Innovation Works Airbus in France. Other research in the area of impact on composite has been completed together with ISAT, University of Burgundy in France. A study of impact on sandwich structure, a joint-research with Innovation work AirBus, has been completed as well.
Prof Yulfian has been invited as Invited Professor in ISAT, University Burgundy, Nevers France to conduct UG courses and postgraduates research supervision. And to add his international recognition, staffs mobility to enhance joint-research has been performed between him and his team in ICA Toulouse, ISAT Nevers and IIUM under sponsorship of French Embassy and AMIC.
His research works have been published in ISI, Scopus and major journals in France. A total of 65 paper publication has been registered with a total citation of 481. He was appointed to review papers on major publisher such as Applied Composite journal, Composite structure part A and B, Impact engineering.

member at the same university.
Prof. Haslan Abu Hassan, Ph.D.
Haslan Abu Hassan was born in Malacca, Malaysia in 1960. He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom in 1983, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Essex, United Kingdom in 1984 and 1987, respectively, for the study of Raman excitations in semiconductor superlattices.
He has been with the School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia, since 1987, and was the Dean of the School of Physics from 2005 to 2010. He was also the Director of the Centre for Education and Training in Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Green Technology (CETREE>), USM from 2010 till 2015. Prof. Dr. Haslan is currently serving as the Director of Knowledge Transfer Centre, USM and is the Secretary for Knowledge Transfer Program of Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia.
His research interests include thin films of III-V nitrides for light emitting diodes, laser diodes and solar cells, nanowires of GaN as solar cells, surface phonon polaritons from nitride interfaces, films of metal oxides as detectors and thermoelectric materials from chalcogenides.
Prof. Dr. Haslan has published 265 papers in ISI International Database Journals, 10 papers in non-ISI International Database Journals, 21 papers in National Journals, 1 Research Book, 1 Academic Book, 3 Chapters in Research Books and numerous International and National Proceedings. He was awarded the Best Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) Phase 2/2007 for Pure Sciences in 2011 by the Ministry of Higher Education. He has supervised and co-supervised 18 PhD and 4 MSc students.
